Baby Bites? No, More Like The Giant's!

OK - here I go.  Now that I have my blog name and have hopefully given an acceptable explanation for why I am here, I guess I should get started.  I know that I have most likely bitten off more than I can chew, which is why having more knowledgeable people leave comments (hint, hint!) would be a blessing!  I am in the process of researching my parents' trees as well as both of my husbands' parents' trees.  Just a little bit of information, huh?  I have been fortunate enough to find that some awesome distant cousins have already begun some of the lines, which has been a great beginning, and I have been on ancestry since 2007, so I am not a complete "newby."  But do you realize how many sets of  4th great grandparents we all have???? Try out 64 for size - now multiply that by 4 (my mom's family, my dad's family, my mother-in-law's family, and my father-in-law's family).  That is the number of surnames I would ideally end up knowing about......in a perfect world......or at Hogwarts.  ACCIO ANCESTORS!!!

I hope to begin REAL posts soon.  I am still trying to work out how to add pictures and make my blog look more like ME. Not to mention which family trees to begin with. Wish me luck!

And So It Begins!

A little explanation about my blog title..... If you have read the Harry Potter series, no explanation is necessary.  For those unfortunate souls that have not had the pleasure of reading these amazing books, you are probably reading my title and thinking I have completely lost my mind.  Well, that is entirely possible, however, it is not because of my blog title.  In J. K. Rowling's books, "accio" is the word that is said before an object when a character wants something to come to him/her.  Let me give you an illustration from my world that shows when that spell would be a dream come true!  I am FOREVER losing my keys when I am not at home, so a dear friend of mine  gave me a key chain for Christmas a couple of years ago that simply reads "accio keys."  It's a shame it doesn't work!  If you are still confused - so sorry!  Try reading the books - you will not be disappointed.  For those Potter fans out there, this is the only time J. K. Rowling will ever appear in my family tree blog. She is an amazing author, but, alas, she is not a cousin.
